Police have recovered the body of an unidentified person from the Louhjang area of Munshiganj. The body was recovered on Monday (May 11) morning from a dirt road beside the Halpatti area of the upazila. It was lying in a decomposed state, police said. However, the identity of the body could not be ascertained immediately, according to police sources.

Lauhajang Thana’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mo: Burhan-ul-Islam confirmed these details to Nota Diganta, stating that on Monday (April 11) at 6 a.m., local Muslims found the body lying beside a road in the Lauhajang Halpatti area after their morning prayers and informed the thana police.

Upon receiving the news, Louhajang Police Station officers reached the scene and recovered the body. The deceased is estimated to be between 50 and 55 years old.

Initially, it is believed the person was mentally unstable. However, the exact cause of death will only be known after the autopsy report, they said.

The body has been sent to Munshiganj Sadar Hospital for postmortem. Police have said a case of suspicious death has been filed regarding the incident.
