Around 40 passengers were injured in a head-on collision between two buses on the Dhaka-Barisal highway in Muksudupur upazila, Gopalganj. The accident occurred at Charprasannadi Bridge No. 1 on Sunday (July 5) afternoon.
Police and local residents said a Dhaka-bound Chandra Paribahan bus was overtaking another vehicle on the bridge when it collided head-on with a Barisal-bound Ilish Express bus. About 40 passengers were injured and taken to various clinics for treatment.
Sindiaghat outpost in-charge Khondokar Aurangzeb confirmed the incident.
