Work must be done for people's welfare: Maulana Abdul Halim

Maulana Abdul Halim, the assistant secretary-general of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, has said that in light of the current situation in the country, the organization’s leaders must work with a mindset of self-sacrifice for the welfare of the nation and its people. He added that everyone should play a role in building a just society through public service and patriotism.
He made these remarks on Thursday (May 10) as the chief guest at a separate opinion exchange meeting and organizational conference organized by Gaibandha district Jamaat.
The event, held at the district Jamaat office, was attended by members of the district Majlis Shura, working committee, upazila amir-secretaries, women’s unit, and former activists of the student movement.
Maulana Abdul Halim emphasized the need for financial cooperation and a spirit of sacrifice to strengthen the organization. He also stressed playing a responsible role in standing by the people of society.
He further stated that the experience gained during student life and organizational skills should be utilized in broader movements and social development. He said that knowledge, practice, and morality should be the primary focus to earn Allah’s satisfaction.
The conference was chaired by Gaibandha District Amir Mohammad Abdul Karim and conducted by District Secretary Maulana Jahurul Hak Sarkar.
Several central and district-level leaders were present at the event. The speakers urged everyone to work together for a just and equitable Bangladesh.
