Nargis Sultana Dipa, organizing secretary of Mahespur upazila BNP, held a meeting with journalists from the Mahespur Press Club. The meeting was held Saturday morning in the press club’s hall room.
Speaking at the event, Nargis Sultana said: “Inspired by the ideals of martyred president Ziaur Rahman, my father was an active worker of Mahespur upazila BNP. Following in that tradition, my family and I have remained involved in BNP politics. I currently serve as organizing secretary of the upazila BNP. On this day, I pray for the eternal peace of the souls of the late martyred president Ziaur Rahman and former prime minister Begum Khaleda Zia.”
She added: “Prime Minister Tareque Rahman is working to advance women in governing the country. I express my gratitude to him.”
Those present at the meeting included Mahespur Press Club President Md Abdur Rahman, Vice President Isharat Mondol, General Secretary Md Babar Ali Babu, Assistant Editors Abdul Halim Chanchal, Hasan Ali, Alamgir Hossain, Najmul Hossain, Mehedi Hasan, Enamul Islam, and Jahidul Islam, among others.
Responding to a question, Nargis Sultana said she is interested in contesting an election wherever the party wants her to. The BNP leader also shared her thoughts on development planning and her broader vision for society.
