Opposition leader and Jamaat-e-Islami amir Dr Shafiqur Rahman has expressed strong anger over the exclusion, in the name of verification, of candidates who were finally recommended for assistant teacher posts in government primary schools.
He expressed the anger in a post on his verified Facebook page on Saturday afternoon. In the Facebook post, he wrote: move away from the wrong political game in primary school teacher recruitment. Respect merit.
Entry into government service is not a matter of political loyalty. As citizens, job candidates’ merit and qualifications should be the only considerations.
He said, abandon this fascist-era misdeed in the name of verification. The people will not tolerate any similar scheming from the fascist era. Protest and resistance will continue with the people.
The Jamaat amir said young people, including talented youth, must again become vocal in claiming their rights. If concessions are made, Bangladesh will become a sanctuary of meritless fascism. There is no scope for concessions.
