A complaint has been filed at a police station against a former student accused of using a Milestone College ID card and making what the college called anti-government provocative remarks during a protest over the HSC examinations and question papers. The student had already obtained a transfer certificate from Milestone College, according to the complaint.

An application to record a general diary (GD) on the matter was submitted at the capital’s Turag police station on Thursday (16 July).

According to the complaint, the accused had been a student of the science division (English medium) at Milestone College (college code 8074) in the 2024-25 academic year. On disciplinary grounds, and with the permission of the Dhaka Education Board, she was given a transfer certificate (TC) from the college, so she is no longer a student there and has no right to use any of the institution’s identity. The complaint said a video recently circulated on social media showed the former student using a Milestone College ID card and making forceful anti-government provocative statements during the protest over the HSC exams and question papers. Although she is no longer a Milestone student, the complaint said, she was using the institution’s identity, creating confusion among the public and damaging the college’s reputation and image.

Milestone College security officer Muhammad Zahurul Islam, on behalf of the college authorities, requested that the matter be recorded as a general diary and that the necessary legal steps be taken.
