DHAKA — The government has decided to dissolve six government agencies, including BIDA, BEPZA and BEZA, and merge them into a single new body in a major administrative overhaul aimed at making the country’s investment climate more dynamic and integrated.

The six agencies will be combined into a large new department to be called the Investment Development Authority, officials said.

The agencies to be dissolved are the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA), the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA), the Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority, the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Authority and the Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC).
