DHAKA — Gold prices in Bangladesh have risen again. The price of a bhori of 22-carat gold has been raised by Tk 2,216 to Tk 244,711.
The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (Bajus) announced the new price in a statement on Thursday, May 7. The revised rates take effect from 10 a.m. on Thursday.
The statement said the price of pure gold has risen in the local market, prompting the revision of overall gold rates.
Under the new prices, a bhori (11.664 grams) of 22-carat gold will cost Tk 244,711. A bhori of 21-carat gold will cost Tk 233,572, a bhori of 18-carat gold will cost Tk 200,213, and a bhori of traditional-method gold will cost Tk 163,063.
