Jamaat-e-Islami central executive council member and Dhaka-12 MP Saiful Alam Khan Milon has called on people across party lines to unite in the politics of change.
“Whatever responsibility falls on us in serving suffering humanity and society, we are committed to fulfilling it on the basis of justice and fairness,” he said.
He was speaking as chief guest at a ceremony on Thursday at a hall in the capital, organized by the Tejgaon Industrial Area, Hatirjheel, and Sher-e-Bangla Nagar South Development Forum. The event distributed government welfare checks allocated by the National Social Welfare Council under the Ministry of Social Welfare to poor and vulnerable residents.
Milon said: “We want to conduct all activities on the basis of justice and fairness. We conducted a pre-survey to determine who should receive these funds. The checks are being distributed to genuine beneficiaries based on that survey. No leader or activist of the organization will benefit from this money.”
He sought cooperation from all levels of the public in his constituency’s development work. “We were not elected merely to serve in the National Assembly. Our job is to stand by the people in their joys and sorrows and to support them in every way. We will strive to fulfill the commitments we have made to the people,” he said.
