A cat named Milu has correctly predicted all of Brazil’s matches at this World Cup. Milu has now also made a prediction for the Brazil-Norway round-of-16 match: a Brazilian victory.
Brazil face Norway at 2am Bangladesh time tonight at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, managed by Carlo Ancelotti. Milu is predicting a Brazilian win.
Milu lives in the town of Aguanil in Brazil’s Minas Gerais state. Her owner, Nathan Pineiro, has been posting the cat’s predictions on social media since the start of the World Cup, where they have gone viral.
Pineiro’s method involves placing food bowls labeled with the competing teams’ flags. Whichever bowl Milu approaches first is taken as the prediction. So far, the cat’s success rate for Brazil matches has been 100% — every prediction through the Japan match has proven correct on the pitch.
Pineiro said he would publish an uncut version of the prediction video so followers could watch the entire process from bowl preparation to the cat’s selection.
