Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman has called on everyone to cooperate in the work of building the nation from their own positions.

He made the appeal on Saturday afternoon at the ECB Chattar in the capital, at an event distributing clothes and food among the destitute organised by Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP to mark the 45th martyrdom anniversary of martyred President Ziaur Rahman.

The prime minister said: “We pledge to help one another in various ways across society. If, as citizens, we all cooperate with one another from our own positions, then that will be how we pay our respects to martyred President Ziaur Rahman on this death anniversary.”

Distributing clothes and food among the destitute, Tarique Rahman added: “Let us do that work today. Let each of us, from our own positions, try to help those who are working directly or indirectly to build the country. Let us help them as citizens.”

“I will not speak more today, because this event is causing problems for people’s movement,” he said. “Inshallah, we will hold meetings on organisational matters another day, and sit down to discuss properly how to make the organisation even stronger.”
