DHAKA — A new shipment of 10 types of vaccines, including measles-rubella and oral polio, has arrived in Bangladesh.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md. Sakhawat Hossain received the shipment in person at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
The consignment arrived at the airport at about 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday, May 6.
In addition to the measles-rubella and oral polio vaccines, the shipment included BCG, pentavalent, PCV and typhoid vaccines.
After receiving the consignment, Sakhawat Hossain said 1.5 million doses of measles vaccine had reached the country and that there would be no further shortage of vaccines.
The government arranged for the vaccines to be brought in within just 24 days, he said. Another 10.8 million doses of 10 vaccines, including measles, will arrive in the country by May 10, he added.
