The pro-Bangladeshi-nationalist Dhaka University teachers’ organization Shada Dal has warned all concerned to be vigilant against individuals using its name for personal lobbying, recommendations, and seeking undue benefits.
The organization said it has no involvement in any such activities and believes all administrative decisions should be based solely on merit, qualifications, integrity, and established rules.
The statement was issued on Friday, signed by Shada Dal convener Professor Dr. Md. Morshed Hasan Khan, joint conveners Professor Dr. Abdus Salam, and Professor Dr. Md. Abul Kalam Sarkar.
The leaders said it has recently come to their attention that certain individuals are using the names of Shada Dal and its senior leaders to approach the university administration and various external persons and institutions for personal lobbying and benefits. “Shada Dal has never made any unethical request or recommendation, and will not do so in the future,” they said.
They said the organization has always maintained that recruitment, placement, promotion, research opportunities, scholarships, and other administrative decisions should be based exclusively on merit, qualifications, integrity, transparency, and established rules. “Any attempt to secure special benefits through party identity, personal connections, or political influence is something Shada Dal firmly opposes,” they said.
They urged the university administration to contact Shada Dal’s leadership directly to verify any recommendation or request made in the organization’s name.
