One person died from dengue and 198 were hospitalised across the country in the 24 hours to Thursday (June 25), the Health Emergency Operations Centre and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services said in a press release.
The person who died was male. Of the 198 people hospitalised in the same period, 126 were male.
The cumulative number of patients hospitalised for dengue treatment this year has risen to 5,515. The total number of dengue deaths so far this year stands at 13.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services, eight of this year’s 13 deaths occurred in June — the most of any month. One person died in May, two in February and two in January.
In all of 2025, from 1 January to 31 December, a total of 102,861 people were infected with dengue and 413 died.
