Two more people have died of dengue in the country in the past 24 hours. With this, 27 people have died of dengue so far this year. Over the same period, 327 new patients were hospitalized with dengue symptoms.
Of those who died, one was in the Dhaka South City Corporation area and the other in Chattogram division (outside the city corporation). One of them was aged between 26 and 30 and the other between 31 and 35; both were women. The information was given in a regular dengue press release sent on Monday (July 13) from the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services.
It said that of the new patients in the past 24 hours, 297 were admitted to government hospitals and 30 to private hospitals and clinics. From January 1 to July 13 this year, a total of 8,650 people have been hospitalized with dengue across the country, of whom 7,800 patients have recovered and been discharged. According to the Directorate General of Health Services, a total of 823 dengue patients are currently under treatment at various government and private hospitals in the country.
