JASHORE — Chowgachha upazila Jamaat-e-Islami has donated Tk 20,000 in cash for the renovation and development of the Chowgachha Press Club in Jashore.
A brief discussion meeting was held at the club’s temporary office to mark the occasion.
The meeting was chaired by Press Club Chowgachha President Principal Abu Jafar. Upazila Jamaat Ameer Maulana Golam Morshed attended as chief guest.
Speakers included Upazila Jamaat Secretary Maulana Nuruzzaman, Assistant Secretary Master Kamal Ahmed, Baitul Mal Secretary Master Imdadul Haque, upazila Jamaat shura and working committee member Shamsur Rahman, and Press Club Chowgachha Senior Vice President Rahidul Islam Khan, among others. The session was moderated by Press Club General Secretary Azizur Rahman.
Also present were journalists M.A. Rahim, Asaduzzaman Mukto, Babul Akhtar, Shafiqul Islam, Raihan Hossain, Kalimullah Siddiqui, Shyamal Kumar Datta, Abu Hanif, Abdul Mannan, Azam Ashraful, Faisal Hossain and Maulana Fakhrul Islam, along with other Press Club Chowgachha members. After the discussion, the Jamaat leaders handed over Tk 20,000 in cash to the press club leaders.
