The Chougachha Non-Government Secondary Teachers and Staff Association held its annual general meeting in Jessore.
The meeting was held Saturday at the auditorium of Chougachha Mridhapara Mahila Degree College. Association president Kamal Ahmed, head teacher of Chougachha Model Secondary School, presided. Upazila Nirbahi Officer Farzana Islam attended as chief guest. Special guests included Assistant Commissioner (Land) G M A Munib; Alamgir Hossain, principal of Chougachha Mridhapara Mahila College; Mamunur Rashid, officer-in-charge of Chougachha police station; S M Bazlur Rashid, upazila secondary education officer; Tabibur Rahman, the association’s general secretary and head teacher of Katgara Secondary School; and Maulana Nurul Islam, the association’s former president and former head teacher of Purahuda Secondary School, among others.
Teachers from various secondary schools in the upazila took part in the general meeting. In her remarks, the chief guest said teachers have a major role to play in social change. If teachers properly fulfill the responsibilities entrusted to them, she said, the nation can quickly climb to new heights of progress. She called on teachers to raise students with a strong moral education.
