The newly appointed administrator of Chuadanga zila parishad, Sharifuzzaman Sharif, has pledged to lift the district from C grade to B grade and to overcome all obstacles to recover the council’s encroached assets and use them for public welfare. He said this as chief guest at a reception at Chuadanga Press Club.
Chuadanga Press Club and the journalists’ association formally honoured Sharifuzzaman Sharif — a press club member, publisher and editor of the daily Somoyer Somikoron and general secretary of the district BNP — at 11:30am on Thursday (11 June) on his appointment as full-time administrator of Chuadanga zila parishad. Journalists, professionals, local notables and leaders of various political parties attended. He was greeted with flowers and given an honorary crest.
At a discussion before the reception, speakers highlighted aspects of Sharifuzzaman Sharif’s long career and expressed hope for his leading role in the district’s overall development, public welfare and administrative duties. Speakers included retired Chuadanga Government College professor Siddiqur Rahman, former Chuadanga Bar Association president advocate Selim Uddin Khan, Shahjahan Mukul, advocate Sohrab Hossain, former press club president Sardar Al Amin, Rajib Hasan Kochi and journalists’ association general secretary Hussain Malik, among others. They said his long experience in journalism, social work and politics would play a positive role in the district’s development, and wished him success and good health. In reply, Sharifuzzaman Sharif thanked all present and pledged to carry out his duties sincerely for the district’s development and the people’s welfare.
