In recognition of long sacrifice, struggle and organisational leadership in politics, the government has appointed Md Sharifuzzaman Sharif, general secretary of Chuadanga district BNP, as administrator of the Chuadanga Zila Parishad. The appointment was announced in a notification issued on Thursday (4 June) by the Local Government Division of the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives.
The notification, signed by Local Government Division Deputy Secretary Khandaker Farhad Ahmad, said Md Sharifuzzaman Sharif will serve as full-time administrator of the Chuadanga Zila Parishad. He will run the council’s administrative activities in line with prevailing laws, rules and government directives.
After the appointment was announced, an air of celebration spread among leaders and activists of the district BNP and its associate bodies. Numerous congratulatory posts appeared on social media. Many activists described the appointment as “recognition of sacrifice” and “deserved honour for a people’s leader.”
Sharifuzzaman Sharif has long been a familiar and well-regarded name in Chuadanga’s political arena. As district BNP general secretary, he played an active role in various political movements, party activities and in handling organisational crises. His close contact with activists and his organisational skill have made him a trusted leader among the general public as well as within party circles.
People from various walks of life in the district view his appointment as administrator positively. Those concerned expect his experience, leadership qualities and public engagement to bring fresh momentum to the council’s development work — particularly in rural infrastructure development, the expansion of public-service activities and the implementation of integrated local-government development initiatives.
Leaders of various political, social and cultural organisations have congratulated Sharifuzzaman Sharif on his new responsibility. They expressed the hope that, under his leadership, the Chuadanga Zila Parishad will play an even more effective role as a welfare-oriented and development-friendly institution.
