A 14-year-old boy has died after being bitten by a snake while asleep in Damurhuda upazila, Chuadanga.
The incident occurred around 2 a.m. Tuesday night in the Sheikhpara area of Jayrampur village, Damurhuda upazila.
Family members and local sources said the boy fell suddenly ill while asleep at home during the night. As his condition worsened, family members took him to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital, where the on-duty physician declared him dead on arrival.
Sheikh Mesbah Uddin, officer-in-charge of Damurhuda Model police station, confirmed the death was caused by a snake bite, adding that the matter is under legal process.
