A woman named Mini Khatun, 60, was killed after being struck by a train near Mominpur railway station in Chuadanga Sadar upazila. The incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. Sunday, August 16. The deceased, Mini Khatun, was the wife of the late Yunus Ali of Shialmari village, Alamdanga upazila.
Witnesses said Mini Khatun had left home that morning and gone to Mominpur railway station. While walking along the railway tracks, she was struck by the Rajshahi-to-Khulna intercity Sagardari train, dying at the scene.
Sub-Inspector Jagadish Chandra Bose of the Chuadanga Railway Police Outpost confirmed the incident. He said the body was handed over to the family following an application from the deceased’s eldest son.
