Mymensingh: Jamaat-e-Islami has announced its nominee for mayor in the Gaffargaon municipal election in Mymensingh. The candidate is Md. Ekram Ullah, secretary-general of an international human rights journalists’ organization.
The district unit of Jamaat-e-Islami made the announcement formally in recent days.
District leaders said they were seeking the prayers, cooperation and support of the people of Gaffargaon municipality.
Ekram Ullah, the mayoral candidate, said he wanted to work with everyone to build a modern Gaffargaon municipality that was just, free of terrorism and extortion, and oriented toward public welfare.
