Najmul elected Cumilla city Chhatra Shibir president; Akib secretary

Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir’s Cumilla city unit has completed the election of a president and nomination of a secretary for the remaining period of the 2026 session. Najmul Hasan Panchayet was elected president by the members’ direct vote, and Dr Kazi Akib Abdullah was nominated secretary.

The election and nomination were completed at a members’ assembly held with the participation of Cumilla city unit members at the city Shibir office auditorium on Saturday (27 June) afternoon.

Shibir central secretary general Sibgatullah attended the assembly, conducted by Chhatra Shibir central foundation secretary Abdul Mohaimen, as chief guest.

For the unit president’s election, voting was held on ballot papers signed by Chhatra Shibir’s central president. After the count, secretary general Sibgatullah declared Najmul Hasan, who received the most votes, as president and administered the oath of office to the newly elected president.

Later, on the basis of members’ advice, the newly elected president nominated Dr Kazi Akib Abdullah as unit secretary.

The members’ assembly was concluded with prayers.
