This year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent exam results will be published at 10am on Monday (10 August). Education Minister Dr A N M Ehsanul Haque Milon will inaugurate the event, according to an education ministry notice.

An inaugural programme has been arranged in the education ministry conference room to mark the release. At the same time, students will be able to learn their results online, through their institutions and by phone SMS. At the event, the chairmen of all the country’s education boards will hand over their respective boards’ results to the minister.

Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee chairman and Dhaka Board chairman Professor Dr Syed Aktaruzzaman said the SSC and equivalent results would be released simultaneously at 10am on Monday. Each board’s results will be available on the relevant education board’s website, as well as on two common websites — eduboardresult.gov.bd and educationboardresults.gov.bd — and students can also collect their results from their own institutions.

Results can also be obtained by SMS. To do so, type “SSC”, a space, the first three letters of the board’s name, a space, the roll number, another space and the exam year, and send it to 16140; the result will be sent back by return SMS. The SMS format for Dhaka Board examinees is “SSC DHA ROLL YEAR”; for Madrasa Board Dakhil examinees “SSC MAD ROLL YEAR”; and for Technical Board examinees “SSC TEC ROLL YEAR”, sent to 16140. Each SMS costs 1 taka 39 paisa, including all taxes.

This year, a total of 1,857,344 students filled in forms to sit the SSC and equivalent exams. Of these, 1,418,398 sat the SSC exam under the nine general education boards, 304,286 filled in forms for the Dakhil exam under the Madrasa Education Board, and 134,660 sat the SSC (vocational) exam under the Technical Education Board.

Applications for rescrutiny of results will be accepted online from 11 August to 17 August, according to a Saturday notice from the Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee. The application process and related instructions will be announced through notices on the education boards’ websites.

Institutions must collect their published results from the designated website, going to the “Result” corner and downloading them using the board and institution’s EIIN number. Students can obtain their results from the boards’ common websites, the relevant board’s website and their own institutions, and by SMS to 16140 or 16222.
