A new directive has been sent to all deputy commissioners regarding the Saturday papers of the 2026 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations. They have been asked to take the necessary measures to hold the Saturday exams of the Seventh-day Adventist community on a different schedule.
The information was learnt from a letter of the Dhaka Education Board on Monday (June 22). The letter has been sent to the deputy commissioners of all districts.
The letter said that, in the 2026 HSC examinations, examinees belonging to the Seventh-day Adventist community would, because of religious restrictions, sit the Saturday papers from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. instead of the scheduled time.
It said, however, that such examinees must reach the exam centre before 10 a.m. on Saturday, stay in a designated room at the centre, and sit the exam at the time set for them. After entering the exam centre, they may carry nothing beyond the items listed on their admit card. Under no circumstances may they leave the designated room of the centre or communicate with anyone outside.
