Young man dies of electric shock while hanging Argentina flag in Chattogram

A young man, Ramhari Baishnab, 20, died of an electric shock while hanging an Argentina flag in the Laldighi Par area of Kotwali Police Station in Chattogram city, police said. The accident happened on Monday. After an autopsy and legal procedures, his body was handed over to his family on Tuesday.

Ramhari Baishnab was a resident of Kabirpur village in Habiganj’s Baniachong upazila. He worked as an employee at a food shop in the Laldighi Par area.

Kotwali Police Station Officer-in-Charge Aftab Uddin said a young man named Ramhari had died of an electric shock while hanging a flag in the Laldighi Par area. The body was handed over to relatives after an autopsy, he said.

Local residents said Ramhari was hanging an Argentina flag on the shop’s window on Monday when he accidentally came into contact with an electric wire next to the window. He was seriously injured, and although local people tried to rescue him, he died on the spot.

Police recovered the body after being informed, and it was sent to the morgue of Chattogram Medical College (CMC) Hospital for an autopsy after the inquest report was prepared. His last rites were completed on Tuesday, sources said.
