The list of selected candidates in the 2025 assistant teacher recruitment for government primary schools who have not received appointment letters is being submitted to the Directorate of Primary Education today, Sept. 28. District primary education officers must send the list with opinions on why appointment letters were not issued.
Directorate sources confirmed the information Sunday.
An official of the directorate told Dainik Shiksha that the process is continuing under the earlier schedule. “The letter we issued will remain in force. No new instruction has been issued by the ministry. We have not informed the field level of anything new either,” the official said.
Earlier, a schedule was set for issuing appointment letters and posting orders to selected candidates in the 2025 assistant teacher recruitment for government primary schools. Under the schedule, appointment letters were to be issued to selected candidates by Sept. 24. If any preliminarily selected candidate was not issued an appointment letter, a list with reasons and opinions had to be sent to the directorate by Sept. 28. According to the earlier announcement, recruited teachers will join district primary education offices on Oct. 1, and posting orders will be issued on Oct. 4.
Sources said the directorate asked the relevant deputy commissioners and district primary education officers to take necessary steps. The Directorate of Primary Education issued the related instructions after administrative approval from the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education. The training date will be announced later after posting orders are issued on Oct. 4.
Meanwhile, candidates who have not received appointment letters for assistant teacher posts in primary schools have been holding a sit-in in front of the National Museum at Shahbagh since Sunday, Sept. 27. They said they will continue the protest until finally selected candidates in all districts receive appointment letters.
They said appointment letters had already begun to be distributed in some districts in a second phase, and they viewed the development positively. They are waiting for all finally selected candidates in the remaining 61 districts to receive appointment letters. They said they would remain at Shahbagh until appointment letters are distributed in all districts.
A meeting on candidates who had not received appointment letters was held Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education. Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister Dr. A.N.M. Ehsanul Haque Milon attended as chief guest.
The meeting urged people not to spread confusion in the media or on social media over appointment letters. It said that if any successful candidate does not receive an appointment letter by Oct. 1, the matter will later be properly examined and appointment letters will be sent in phases as quickly as possible. The meeting also said verification or vetting is a regular process in government recruitment. Later Saturday afternoon, Primary and Mass Education Minister Dr. A.N.M. Ehsanul Haque Milon said confusion was being spread over receipt of appointment letters. He said any successful candidate who does not receive an appointment letter by Oct. 1 will have the matter properly reviewed later, and appointment letters will be sent in phases as quickly as possible. He added that verification and vetting are regular processes in government recruitment.
