A total of 694 candidates who had not received appointment letters for assistant teacher posts in government primary schools received them Sunday. The progress came after instructions from Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister Dr. A.N.M. Ehsanul Haque Milon at a meeting Saturday. Appointment letters will be sent to the remaining candidates in phases after verification. If the cases are not cleared after Oct. 1, they will be reviewed individually on a case-by-case basis.

The sources also said a total of 1 thousand 383 people had not received appointment letters. Of them, 694 were verified and cleared, and their appointment letters were sent. Among 14 thousand 384 candidates, 530 had moved elsewhere and were no longer waiting for the job. Overall, reports showed that 1 thousand 383 people across the country had not received appointment letters. After Saturday’s meeting, the cases were reviewed again. By Sunday evening, 694 had already been cleared. That means half have been cleared, with about seven hundred remaining, the sources said.
